Scapa Ranger

Preternatural high tides at the moment.  Many of the certainties of life have disappeared.  The only true thing that I know I can utterly depend on is that sometime during the day I will get cat food on my hands.  But not dog food, or ants’ eggs.  I snapped at 3.00pm today – it had poured with rain all day, max temp was 6C with a bitter NNE wind – I lit the stove.  Tho boat depicted is the Scapa Ranger.  She used to run between Stromness and Hoy.  For most of the year it was operated by one man.  The modern equivalent had a crew of four last week – and CMC was the only passenger.   My tranquilisers are wearing off.  As is my barcode.
