Father-to-be

After all the frenetic activity in the last week or so, all is very quiet in the pond.  If you want some eye-watering duck facts (and aren't too squeamish) click here.

The female is nesting under a bush near the pond and appears about twice a day ravenously hungry.  The male is gone for about 50% of the time but for the other 50% floats on the pond quacking quietly when I appear in the garden.  I've fed them when I've seen both of them and he lets her eat...
