Arnside Bore.

Seen here from the village pier. At its best  when high Spring tides race in from the wide expanse of Morecambe Bay into the Estuary of the River Kent where it narrows opposite Arnside.
It comes in remarkably fast. In better weather there would have been surfboarders riding the front edge. In fact off the picture there were some small boats having fun.

There were about thirty of us standing on the pier in pouring rain watching the spectacle.
