Yum!

Scallops on sticks for an early lunch at the Salamanca Market this morning. It was fun walking around and seeing all the craft and food on sale. We bought some fresh vegetables to use over the next few days.

Meanwhile, we received a photo from home of Billy and Frida (extra)- they are obviously looking after each other very well, and both being well looked after by M +D in their own home.

We picked up our rental car and drove to Strahan, 300kms away. The last 2 hours were horrendous as it got dark, it was drizzling heavily and the road very windy! We were also warned not to drive at dusk because of the animal jumping on the road…however, our trip took more than the 4.5 hours as we stopped to look at the wonderful “Wall in the Wildnerness” at Derwent Bridge. Sculptor Greg Duncan has created this amazing sculpture out of Huon Pine - it is over 100 metres in length, and is so realistic. What a legacy he has left Tasmania and the world.

We finally got to our accommodation and everything was closed. However, we eventual located the owner and we are now in a delightfully warm cottage in a holiday park. We are very grateful to be here.
