Odin

I drove over to Sheringham this morning for a few things, including putting a bet on the Grand National. This is a large model of Odin (about 8 foot tall) , the sign at the bottom said he was the God of war, poetry and death (spot the odd one out). He was stood near to the replica Viking longship, both part of the Viking Festival. Tonight there’ll be a parade, re-enactments and the boat will be burnt on the beach.

This afternoon I mowed the lawn and edged it, and I watched the Grand National. Very good to see how well the standing start and reduced field improved safety and made for a better race. Another warm and sunny day, albeit still windy. I’ve not spotted the blue tits visiting the nest today.
