Sunrise In Time For Bin Day.

Sunrise is earlier every morning now and this is a great help to assembling the wheelie bins on the pavement in time for collection. Usually 6:00 a.m.

Pat has woken up feeling quite unwell with a sore throat and a serious cough. I offer paracetamol, throat lozenges and a ‘Toddy’.

A Toddy comprises hot water, honey and lemon with a dash of whisky.

Compton MacKenzie wrote a 1947 novel called ‘Whisky Galore’ which featured the mythical island of Todday. Wikipedia have published a detailed account of the history surrounding which inspired the novel.

The first film of the book was released in 1949 and a remake appeared in 2016. Both were titled ‘Whisky Galore’.

Apparently in the USA the movie was called Tight Little Island. The reason being that alcoholic drinks could not be used in film titles.
