The first tulips are starting to go over, although new ones are springing up, so I thought I'd capture some shapes.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Ultimate Spinach - (Ballad Of) The Hip Death Goddess (recorded 18 September 1967 - 29 October 1967, Bell Sound, New York NY)
When this came up by chance on the radio I was intrigued by the arch vocal style of the singer, who I now know to be Barbara Hutton, contrasting with the lyrical content. It sounded English and of indeterminate age, perhaps a psych-folk revival piece, but it turned out to be an example of the sixties 'Bosstown Sound', set up as an East Coast alternative to the contemporary San Francisco scene that it emulated by songwriter and band leader Ian Bruce-Douglas (guitar, keyboards, esoteric instruments, vocals) in Boston MA. An edited version of this from their self-titled debut album was released as a single.
