Gentians

The depth of colour of these Gentains was astounding but so too was the view of Mont Blanc from Ranfoilly at 1812m - in extras.

We walked from Chavannes to the Wetzet cafe, then Wetzet to Ranfoilly in a circular loop, then back to Chavannes. The total was only 10.4km with 374m ascent, in 2h55 moving time. (but we had a coffee stop and a lunch stop). It was tough though with about 200m of the ascent slipping in slushy snow and it was hot at 20C! 1.5litres water was not enough so we couldn’t continue to Plenney.
