Costa Rica to Nicaragua Border Crossing

We left Costa Rica and crossed into Nicaragua at Penas Blancas. It was much more officious than the Panama - Costa Rican border crossing. The most astonishing sight was the hundreds of lorries queuing for miles to pass through immigration. Apparently it takes an average of three days for a lorry to pass this border!!

We had the assistance of this chap to cycle our luggage over the border! He was very organised and efficient.

We drove on to San Jorge to catch a ferry to the Isla de Ometepe. It was a fairly choppy one hour journey!
