Confused

The cactus flowered at Christmas for years and years.
Then it decided that Easter was more to its liking.
After that it extended its flowering to cover both celebratory dates.
This year it has flowered not stop from before Christmas until now ..... and is still putting out buds!

Squirrel arrived this morning as happy as Larry. She said it was because she had a good sleep - I think it was probably more to do with having been away with the family during the holiday.

SWMBO and I went over to The Larder this morning to have a look at their newly redone cafe area (they won  a £25k  grant in a public vote).
It looks very nice and certainly helps with the increased seating.
We also went to say Hello to the chefs in the kitchen .... they were all in - including Derrick who used to be head chef but left about 4 years (I think). He says he is back on a trial basis to see if he is any good.
We left with a couple of fruit scones (we bought them....) ..... and their big chopping board!
I made it for them but felt it needed tidying up a bit.
So it has been re-sanded to remove knife marks etc., had the logo re-burnt into it and been re-oiled. 
It will be returned tomorrow morning when I go to buy some sweet stuff to take up my sisters before heading up there to meet up with our aunt.
No rain today - but my word, the  cold wind cuts through you like a knife.
