A few weeks ago I was asked to speak to the local Rotary Club. Not my usual sort of thing, but it allowed me to repay a favour so I was happy to do it.
They were a lovely, but elderly and, in their own words, "dying out" group. Despite half a century of good deeds* and a huge amount of money raised neither the club or its format seems to work for younger generations.
They were however a great bunch and made a kind donation to Wellness Walks.

The rest of the day was lost to computer drudgery (but replacement office PC now ordered). Watched this ones antics from the window.
Finished the day with the excellent news that a good friend has come through serious surgery. After a couple of life threateningly botched operations it's brilliant to hear that his specialist is confident of a good outcome. Potentially life changing for him, wonderful.

* Genuinely amazed to hear that as well as all the local good causes they've supported for decades the lasting worldwide organisational legacy of Rotary Club will be the irradication of Polio, something they've been at the forefront of for a long long time, and apparently a battle very close to being won.
