Behind the Scenes

Well...what a treat I had this morning!  The North Norfolk Photography Society had arranged a member's photoshoot at Morston Hall, a Michelin starred restaurant/hotel just a few miles from us.  M and I have been eating there on special occasions for over 10 years, so to get a chance to see the kitchen was too good to miss.

The chef patron Galton Blackiston met us on arrival and then gave us a tour of the kitchen'.  We were also provided coffee and a plate of their  chocolate chip cookies in one of the lounges.  After that we were free to wander around the public areas of the hotel and the kitchen to our heart's content.

We would have also liked to explore and photograph the outside smokehouse and gardens but sadly we had appalling weather, strong cold wind from the North West, and rain. Only indoor photos were taken.

The extras show Galton next to his portrait, some wild garlic being prepared, one of the dining rooms and a pastry croustade, which will be filled with shredded Wagu beef and various accompaniments, ready to be served as a canape at dinner service this evening.

As I love interiors and food (not necessarily in that order), I thoroughly enjoyed the morning.
