Costa Rica Day 15 - Palo Seco - San Jose

We had a late start this morning.  The main is the turtle shaped pool at Fawlty Towers.  I am not sure just how clean the pool water might be.  The raccoon, dogs and local birds all seem to drink from it but as you can see, the dogs even enjoy a cool off under the umbrella in the morning.

I went for a little walk down the road outside.  This area apparently has seaside homes owned by rich Costa Ricans.  There were some I saw that I would be quite happy with.

The first extra is of the beach looking in the opposite direction to last night's sunset.  By 11 am the sand was so hot you could fry an egg on it and flip flops would be melting.  Just a word of warning, they are all coconut palms along the edge so don't have a siesta underneath them in case of falling coconuts.

Senora Basil was in fine form this morning as we said Adios.

We then headed back to San Jose.  The road we took, even though a fairly major road was mostly single laned and you would get caught behind trucks which made it a slow drive.  We stopped for lunch at a touristy place and did some souvenir shopping.

Our guide had made arrangements for an upgrade of our hotel which was a lovely surprise.

An early start for us tomorrow as we are heading back to the Caribbean side to Sarapiqui for a tour of a biological station but will be coming back to San Jose.
