Moon

We are eagerly awaiting the announcement about the dates of Eid, whenever the position of the moon makes it clear. Tanzania will have two public holidays whenever it starts, whereas Mozambique doesn’t mark it so officially, perhaps due to a smaller percentage of Muslims in the population.

Whilst I am not in Tanzania at the moment I work with many Tanzanians on a daily basis and don’t want to hassle Muslim colleagues over deadlines when they’re celebrating one of their holiest days of the year. So I hope the moon does its thang soon.

On the side of a bin in the city I saw this big sticker highlighting the plight of children in Palestine. It’s extremely sad to think of them having no food to break their fast.
