SÓLFARIÐ

We started planning a trip to Iceland in 1988. Got a far as falling off our chairs at the price of flights. This year we finally made it there. Only 4 days but we packed a lot in…. this country is epic, loved every minute of our trip.

Day 1 - flight left Edinburgh at 6.30am and our first glimpses of Iceland were huge glaciers and plumes of smoke from the ongoing volcanic eruptions from the plane. Spent the day wandering around Reykjavík. Visited the Settlement museum and Hallgrímskirkja, where we were lucky enough to hear a fabulous choir, had a superb lunch, took pictures on the rainbow road and of great sculpture and street art, admired superb landscape photography, ate cinnamon buns and drank delicious strong black bitter coffee in bookshop cafe.
