Flowers

A beautiful day today.The sun is shining and it's really warm.Its so nice to see the blue sky .I've been outside until now and have just come in to check on the tennis.
I cut down the pansies and violas and managed to save some of the flower heads which I have now put in the flower press you can see in the picture along with some buttercups,speedwell and grasses.
The press was made by my Dad and is decorated with a marquetry pansy. Marquetry is 'the art and craft of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns,design or pictures.' The technique dates back to the 16th century.
