Malcom again

Dublin street being filled in, after the excavations to clear a drain. Last seen on the 3rd of April. They didn't seem to actually replace any of the main sewer; there wasn't enough major pipe installed for that.

We walked up to Regent Road, then through the New Calton burial ground to Holyrood and St Margaret's loch. Only one swan visible, one heron, one greylag and one Canada goose, lots of gulls. Three pheasants; one on the bank above the car park near the palace, another pair by the loch.

Puzzled by the absence of swans when there were lots in the winter time; mute swans aren't supposed to be migratory. Bus back by John Lewis to pick up a replacement saucepan.
