A day at Kew Gardens

There and back in a day, not too bad by train and tube. I met my friend S who is a member at Kew, and very knowledgeable about botany and gardening. It was really cold and grey - we didn’t expect that when we planned, months ago,  to go late April. It’s lucky there are several indoor heated houses to look around, and most of my photos are from indoors.  It was really difficult to select only 20 to show here.
I haven’t bothered with long Latin names.  The main blip is an orchid ( I learned from S that the largest family of plants is Orchids). The first extra is a water lily and a reflection in the mirror-like pond.
The two collages have A - peony, comfrey, pasqueflower flower.
Horsetail, not sure (relation of speedwell?), handkerchief tree.
Cactus, Joseph bush, not sure (like a begonia but actually not)
B All different kinds of orchid except 2nd the weirdest thing, called Arisaema Ringens, 7th not sure - leaves with pictures of leaves on them:), 8th pitcher plants (carnivorous) and 9th a bromeliad with tiny flowers emerging in the centre where the plant catches water.
It was wonderful to spend a day being amazed by the variety and beauty of the world of plants.
