The Parthenon

Another busy day! We set off from the hotel at 7.45 and did a mini city tour including a sight of the changing of the guard! See extras! We then made our way to the acropolis and were dropped at the entrance by the coach. We were there by 9am so we were in a period where it was not too
busy.

We had our new guide with us today! She is called Constantina with a short name of Dina. She was put out at the beginning to realise that the tour involved walking to the Agora after climbing to the Parthenon! I am a bit spaced out this evening after a long day walking so will finish this in the morning!

Back in the coach! Dina is expounding! She calls us “my dear ones”. The first time she walked with us we all scattered and did our own thing. We have machines which she speaks into and we hear the information! At the first stop she gently said that as the guide she expected us to stay with her and follow her! She is not small and is a smoker so she walks very slowly! She is knowledgable and opinionated but she loves her groups!

At the Parthenon we were told about the golden ratio and the way that the pillars are graduated from bottom to top!
