While on my runs

Just another Kawau sunrise

As per usual I woke as sunrise neared. The colours can often be more dramatic in the pre-dawn period. Perhaps that is what wakes me; I leave a gap when drawing the curtains at night. By the time I have woken and got my camera, the colour in the sky is much more muted. I do like the image created when the sun emerges from behind Kawau Island.

We went to Morris and James, and were shown through the pottery factory by Jacob who introduced himself as a "pot thrower". It was fascinating to see how they do what they do. The first extra shows a glazed pot before and after being in the kiln.

Mid-afternoon, I walked on the exposed mudflats and got a good photo of a solitary spoonbill
