A Stitch in Time Saves Nine

As someone pointed out the other day, there's never money for routine maintenance but once a "disaster" is declared they can't throw enough at it.
I hate to think what it must now be costing to repair the Megalong Road. For 24 hours a day there must be at least half a dozen people on duty just directing the traffic along the one lane. Today when we went through just before it was closed for 5 hours while they did some work on it there were many more employed.
That's not to mention all the services being thrust upon us from business assistance to mental health support. If only they had provided a few roadworkers in the first place.

Thanks ApolloFly/Nicoiseannie for hosting Wide Wednesday this month.
