ANZAC Day

The Blackheath Rotary club’s biggest fundraiser each year is our ANZAC golf day which concludes in the late afternoon with what is always a very moving ceremony outside the clubhouse.
Highlights are a lone piper walking up the 18th fairway and local bugler Jim playing the Last Post from beside the 1st tee. Ok, it’s a trumpet not a bugle but let’s not be pedantic.
One of our members Barry is not only a New Zealander but a marvellous singer so we always look forward to his rendition of the NZ national anthem (as opposed to the rather ordinary performance of our own anthem by the rest of us!)
