ANZAC Day

A poppy or a sprig of rosemary may have been more appropriate for ANZAC day and Flower Friday but this rose was the best I could do.
April 25 is not only a solemn day of commemoration for Australia but a day of unity under one flag for all Australians, irrespective of their heritage, to acknowledge the freedom afforded us by our forebears.
After the remembrance ceremony, it’s a local tradition for many in Blackheath to take part in the ANZAC golf day, an event originally started by our local Rotary Club. I teamed up with son Graham, grandson Henry and Graham’s friend Tim but despite our best efforts, we can only boast Henry’s “encouragement award” for our efforts.
