No birds

We have to get the man who put out bait for the rats in the thatch back for him to check the traps.  But he is as elusive as spring and will always be along ‘in a week’.  So we can’t refill the bird feeders and it is sad not to be watching them at the moment.  So here’s a vase of ranunculus bought at the Cowdray farm shop at vast expense looking all rustic and simple in the kitchen window.  Good value ranunculus though as they go on flowering for so long until one day one prods them and all the petals fall off.

UP to London with crazy trains, day in the Grade, got my hair done and after a terrible night last night, worrying about meeting up with some friends when they could only meet late and I was so tired and the trains were terrible it was a relief when they had to postpone.  Got a terrible train home.

Watched the final Shogun which was thoughtful rather than shocking as last weeks had been.
