The path less traveled

I love overgrown gates and Public Right of Way signs for their sense of mystery and promise of an old path waiting to be re-discovered. Inevitably I notice them most on a sunny day when they are grassy and in need of wear and stand in sharp relief to the hot, sticky office ahead of me.

Today I passed this particular right of way and, as usual, I can never quite get a good look at what the trees are so expertly hiding. Perhaps that's a good thing, to have a path we never take but imagine often...
