Paet Hill Season 2024

A lovely sunny morning, much warmer too.  Hazy broken sun in the afternoon and evening.  A shower at teatime.  Windy most of the day, calm tonight.

Up early, washing out after breakfast.  Some time spent in the garden and greenhouse.  Headed up to the peat hill.  Back fine for lunch, and mam came by.  An afternoon in the peat hill again.  Walkies with Sammy before tea, and we heard cruise ships in Lerwick toot their horns 5 miles away.  A busy evening working in the shop.  Last walkies, then much needed feet up.

A perfect day off to start casting my peat bank, various others had the same idea.  I've made good progress, but feeling the aches tonight, used muscles I've not used since last year.  Think a busy night in the shop has saved my body from ceasing up, hopefully be spaegie (muscle fatigue) free tomorrow.  Looking like more fine weather over the next few days, be great to get this finished off.  Having a refreshment break, tushkar too.  Taken at Hill of Fitch, Tingwall.
