Biker meet at Blyth Services, A1M

First stage of the long haul to the Orkneys successfully completed. A surprisingly easy journey north with very little traffic around once away from the clutches of London.

The usual stops at Peterborough, Blyth and Annandale Water for relief and sustenance. What started out as a sunny day in Kent ended wet and cold in Edinburgh. As we travelled north the clouds gathered and true to form just as we crossed the border down came the rain.

It’s a relatively “short” hop to Thurso tomorrow. Probably stopping at the House of Bruar for lunch. We’re staying overnight at a hotel in Castletown near Thurso tomorrow night, catching the ferry from Gills Bay to St Margaret’s Hope on Monday morning
