People watching at Peterborough Services

Next phase of Operation Cumbria successfully completed. Staying overnight at Scotch Corner in a room which is larger than our entire flat at Armaside near Lorton, Cockermouth.

All went smoothly, one of the easiest and least stressful drives north once we were through the Dartford Crossing. A significant change in temperature as we travelled north down to 9c - what a change from 29c last week. It is going to warm up during the coming week.

Despite misgivings, the vast amount of stuff piled in the hall, bedrooms and dining room fitted into the boot of the car with the back seats folded down. There was no room for the kitchen sink. Fortunately, there is one at the flat!

Lots to do tomorrow when we’ve unloaded the , appliances and furniture to collect from Workington and shopping to be done. We disposed of our old fridge freezer this morning before leaving. A family three doors away saw it on our drive and also advertised on our community hub, collecting it at 8.00am!

Today’s offering is a birds eye view from the gallery at Peterborough services where we ate our salad lunch and watched people tucking into an extensive variety of fast foods.
