Fort Necessity

A reenactor poses as a British troop member at Fort Necessity, where George Washington and some other Brits surrendered to the French and Indians shortly after the Battle of Jumonville Glen (the official start of the French and Indian War aka the Seven Years War or Original World War 1). This beautiful countryside was also home to one of the first national roadways as can be seen from the remaining white obelisk road markers and old toll-houses near the highway.
