Rainbow on the Isle of Skye

It's over Portree Bay, just outside Portree Harbour, at 20:45 in the evening. We were having dinner at a wonderful restaurant with this view, visible only rhrough a narrow window. It had been mostly gloomy, after a constantly changeable day, when it brightened--I went outside and there it was. (The small white things on the middle of the shore are gulls.)

The day's outing with our friends Liz and Steve took us south, past the Isle Oronsay Lighthouse to Armadale Castle (headquarters of the Clan Donald with a wonderful extensive garden and museum). Returning we took a loop to the west past Taskervaig and Ord, back to the main road north back to Portree. The weather changed constantly, almost kaleidoscopically, with fascinating clouds and light effects in the landscape. Quite marvelous!
