Taking the Biscuit

This morning was hands down, absolutely beautiful for a bimble and am so glad for taking Biscuit to work instead of the Leaf.

Riding home towards Disley before pop-popping over Marple Ridge offered calming views out towards Derbyshire (extra 1), whereas a little further on, the littlest Enfield steered her way to the top of Marple's flight of canal locks.

Here I sat on Bridge 1's low wall to enjoy some peace & quiet for 10 minutes or so, expecting the occasional dog-walker and discovering that jogging appears to be the more popular early morning pastime in these parts.

There was no boat traffic this early, nor the sound of any in the near distance. Apparently a Lock further down the flight is undergoing some heavy repairs to one of its walls so that will reduce activity to between the Macclesfield Canal & the Upper Peak Forest only.

Extra 2 shows the signpost at the junction where I was sat...8 miles from where youngest & your Gal was last week.

All in all had bed not beckoned, an easy hour could have been spent sitting down & breathing it alllllll in ^_^

To round off, after sleeping off my shift and going for a soak in the bath, the heavens opened outside and it promptly chucked it down with rain for an hour or so. Not so tickety-boo but it subsided enough for a walk to my parents for a cuppa.
