The Hardy Boys

The grand Opening Regatta. The parade of sail. The forecast was for very little wind. And indeed there was so little that none of us could get across the start line which was helpfully positioned upwind from the breakwater. Luckily we had plan B. It involved engines. Though once we  got to the windward mark there was just enough of a breath of wind to switch off the iron donkey, squire, and set that genny. And crack open the tea, coffee, and best of all, MrW’s chocolate gingers. Then back to light up the BBQ - it’s what sailing is all about.
Later to Summerhall to see Dan Willson and Kathryn Williams who seem to have hooked up - certainly they’ve produced an album together. We were a bit fearful of attending the gig as it’s a bit sugary sweet trilling lovebird stuff, but they’re so good on stage together that you couldn’t help but love it. And love it we did.
