BethaBlip 31...

This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I try to get them on the same date of each month (the one year ago thumbnail has proved a brilliant tool for this series) and in the same pose so that I can see how they change over time. I also want to record in text, some of the little details that happen month on month so that when we and he are older, we can look back on them.

Bethany turned 3 this month. She got a Dora the Explorer bike with helmet from us. There were other wee odds and sods from other relatives and friends including a wooden Night Garden Clock, roller skates and a load of dressing up stuff.

We just had a wee birthday tea in the house of Bethany's choosing, fish and chips with peas and a birthday cake. On the Sunday after when everyone wasn't working, we had her party. Bethany requested a face painting party which was probably spurred on by her's and her uncle's her faces painted in Glasgow at the underground festival. She had a butterfly painted on her face. Cousin cousin Cassie was a tiger, mummy was a fairy, Ewan had a dinosaur on his cheek, granny Currie was a cat and grandpa Currie was a rather magnificent lion with his hair and beard doing a good mane. I just gave her free reign on me so I was more a collection of random splodges of face paint. All good messy fun.

Other than that, we've still been plugging away at the toilet training. Nappies have been eradicated both during the day and at night. She has a rubber sheet for her bed and there have been a couple of accidents both in bed and during the day but these are minimal. It's still a case of reminding her but she does also inform us at times when the call of nature comes upon her. This is all preparation for nursery in August where she'll have to eventually if not learnt yet, be able to go herself.

We've had my 2 man tent up in the garden as a play thing for a couple of weeks this month. Bethany has asked to stay in the tent one night. That'll be an early night for me then.
