Goodbye Wales, Hello Yorkshire

A last minute decision has taken us across the country to the Yorkshire coast - Flamborough to be precise. It’s a case of taking advantage of a few free days for G and reasonable health for me.

The journey’s awful. We think a morning departure will avoid the worse of homeward bound Bank Holiday traffic, but it seems others have had the same idea and it takes an age just to get out of North Wales - not helped by G’s insistence to find ‘short cuts’ until I point out that Google is telling us the quickest route really is the A55 - a route now completely red and orange on the navigation map!

Once over the border, things ease. We’re in my Golf, chickening out of a long journey in the electric Kia, so at least we don’t have charging anxiety - but we do come across whole banks of chargers just waiting to be used. The infrastructure’s definitely improving.

By the time we reach our destination, the fog’s come in, so those photos I’ve intended taking from the nearby cliffs do not materialise. Instead, you have another photo from Portmeirion.

Thanks so much for the comments on yesterday’s Steampunk shots - and especially for the hearts.
