It's that time of year again!

The local farmers are grass cutting for silage, so these trailers, piled high with grass, are trundling past our house every few minutes. It has been going on all day and will most likely continue into the night, as the farmers tend to contract the work out and they have to get it all done in the one day. They also have to make the most of a dry day.

The noise the tractors and trailers make as they go past is quite horrendous. And they always seem to be in a hurry. They take up a huge amount of our narrow roads, as they hurtle through the village and out to the farms, where they are unloaded. I was out in the car this morning and spent a fair amount of time behind one. When you come face to face with one, it can be pretty scary. Just another of the joys of living in the country I guess.

Update 9pm
We have a ridiculous break in the tennis and the tractors are still trundling past.

Update 10pm
They're still rumbling through.

Update 11pm
The machines are still whirring and the tractors are still hurtling though the village. They really do work hard.
