One Can Never Buy

Too Many Plants • I could say that about books and music too • We made our first pilgrimage to the plant store to purchase tomato, pumpkin, cucumber and pepper seedlings, along with some seed potatoes. A few perennials were selected too but we’re saving the bulk of our flower purchases for the next visit, possibly next week. I’ll harden off the veggies over the next few days before we pot them up, weather dependent • The place was packed; it’s the start of the planting season, a Friday, plus Mother’s Day on Sunday • Lots of humble bumble bees buzzed about too • Our neighbors who winter in Florida will arrive either today or tomorrow. It will be nice seeing them but it also means the return of Lewis, their outdoor cat. I will be on high alert to protect our beloved wildlife birds and critters • Happy Weekend to you!
