Walk between Royal Papworth and Addenbrookes

A visit to Specsavers during the morning to collect my husband’s spectacles, which were not ready when we collected his other pair last Friday. No they were still not there, but we could go back in two hours as they would be ready then. Not an option as our next visit was to Royal Papworth hospital to collect a prescription. No that we not ready; it had been prescribed to the “wrong box”. Then the senior pharmacist was not happy with the prescription and my husband’s complex medical conditions. She could not find the doctor who had prescribed the medication, so we went to lunch in Papworth’s excellent restaurant. On our return from lunch the doctor was waiting for us and after many questions and rechecking my husband’s records the medication was duly received.

Then we walked from Royal Papworth to Addenbrookes, which is where today’s picture was taken. His late afternoon appointment went well and we finally got home just before 1800 hours. A very long day, as we left home just after 0900 hours, but in the end quite productive. We will go on Tuesday to collect his spectacles and weather dependent will have a leisurely day in Cambridge.

I also managed to buy a pair of pink slip ins from Sketchers and a pair of pink sandals; there is also another pair which I like in blue, so they might come home with me on Tuesday.

The gardeners had been during the day and the lawns and borders looked lovely.

The temperature at noon today was twenty-two degrees Celsius.
