Flower Carpet

There's a wildflower turf producer just over a mile from home, and it looks if they are starting to cultivate another field. I'm a big fan: it is pretty to travel past, helps the local insect population and was very convenient when I bought the turf for my garden.

Amongst many customers, this farm supplied the wildflowers for the Olympic Park in London.

This new strip is tiny compared to the main area, and it's interesting to see what I think is phacelia growing in the top left of the field.  See extra for more.

This would probably be grown here to improve the soil or to attract pollinators. I'll ask around.
