Life through the lens...

Sunshine and showers.

Decisions, decisions.
I couldn’t decide which photo to choose so you have them both!

A day of sunshine and showers. Fortunately we managed to be inside or in the car when most of the showers came.

Our first stop this morning was for fish. We bought two Megrim sole from Trelawneys in Newlyn.
Then walked to the little Fisherman’s Rest for a bacon sandwich only to find it doesn’t open on a Tuesday! So had a walk round, and I took the photo looking down on the harbour with the agapanthus in the foreground.

Then on to Penberth Cove.
Believe it or not we have never been before.
( thanks Sarah for recommending it)
What an absolutely delightful tiny cove.
We had coffee and cake which I had brought with us, before we walked down from the very small parking spot. ( Max 5 cars)
Just a cluster of small houses. At least one still owned by one of the fishermen who still go out from the Cove.
Unfortunately I expect the others are holiday homes or let’s.
It started to rain, which is why my bottom photo has a smudge in the middle of it.
We sat on a bench overlooking the sea, and watching the waves crashing on the cliffs.
The hill sides were full of blue bells and white three Cornered Leeks.
Difficult to tear ourselves away, but it started raining again and so we drove to Logan Rock Inn for some lunch. Very expensive menu for a pub. Crab sandwich the dearest we have seen so far at £18. Needless to say we didn’t have one.

Afterwards we called at Trengwainton garden ( Nat. Trust) and had a walk round. Unfortunately the rain had spoilt a lot of the flowers, especially the rhododendrons.
Two small showers while we were there.

Now back and looking forward to having the fish for tea with new potatoes and asparagus.
