St Michael’s Mount

In our opinion this is the best view of St Michael’s Mount. Photo taken as we sat in
the glorious Tremenheere Sculpture Garden, Penzance.( see extra of MrC)

The gardens only opened in 2012. Set in a sheltered valley overlooking Mount’s Bay.
Because of the micro climate there is a wonderful selection of exotic and sub tropical plants, as well as a woodland glade, containing many large tree ferns.
Among the plants, you come across many contemporary art installations.
It is a very unique garden, and one of our favourites.
( 2nd extra collage of some of the plants.)

This garden was in contrast to the one we visited this morning.
Trengwainton . A National Trust garden again in Penzance.
This time a glorious spectacle of rhododendrons, azalea, some late flowering camellias, along side some more tender plants. Also a delightful stream boarder, with Arum lilies, Iris, and candelabra primulas.
Handkerchief Tree, Davidia involuerata. ( 3 extra Collage Mid. right. )was the star of today.
and the spectacular Chilean Firebush . ( bottom left)

What was delightful as we walked round both gardens was the sound of water running water from the streams and the sound of bird song.

Another lovely day. Warm with sunny intervals, although it has started to rain this evening.
