Belated Barcelona Blip 2

Day two

More Gaudi-ness (or gaudiness whichever way you want to see it) this morning at the Sagrada Familia - Still a building site although I could see some progress since I was here 7 years ago. This shot is a relief from the side called the Passion and was actually designed, not by Gaudi, but by Josep Maria Subirachs. Gaudi died during the building of this catherdral which is why it has never been finished to this day.

After wandering round we took a very long walk down past a bullring to the marina where we relaxed for a while (and I bought new shoes to save my poor shredded feet - too many years in DMs has made my feet too soft for sandals!) Also suffered terrible knee pain from the walking. Am getting old!

A wander down the Ramblas for dinner then over to the harbour to relax watching the twinkle of the lights in the water and listening to the firecrackers go off for St Joans/St. John's day.
Sadly we didn't see any bonfire celebrations and the firecrackers were a bit loud so we didn't stay too long!
A lovely first day (torn feet aside!)
