My first Red Admiral of the year, at the point where last year’s bracken is just starting to disappear beneath  new growth.

Last year was a good year for Red Admirals - I recorded them on 45 different days between May and October. The only two species I saw on more days were Small White (57) and Speckled Wood (87).
