St. Oswald’s Way Day 6

What a horrible day!! Foot feeling much better which given the prospect of a 17 mile walk was good news. Set off early and walked to Bamburgh along the beach from Seahouses. Lovely in many ways even though we couldn’t see much. Very misty and visibility poor, practically on top of the castle before we could see it - blip shows an outline. Very glad I’ve been here before! Stopped for breakfast and when we resumed the rain had started. By lunchtime we’d done a comfortable 10 miles, but were sodden. I stopped outside our pub stop and literally poured water out of my boots and still squelched. Our rucksacks have rain covers but quite a few of the contents were wet. We decided that even though we could walk further it was ridiculous to continue in our sodden state. So had a few pints and were glad to find a bus stop yards from the pub that would drop us outside our evening stop. Disappointed but never mind. 90 miles walked. Our final day tomorrow was going to be to Berwick on Tweed but boots look as though they will take a few weeks to dry again. Suspect they are now 2 sizes smaller than when I bought them!!
