Findhorn Bay

The heavy rain which has been plaguing the rest of the country arrived in Moray later in the afternoon.

That gave us chance to get out and visit Findhorn. It was very grey and overcast which gave a mysterious ethereal feeling to the bay and estuary.

Young O enjoyed doing what all young boys (and those not so young) do with stones near water. The pebbles around the beach here are so fascinating each on different in colour, texture, pattern and density giving a hint of their formation and their possible geological history.

As the tide receded this afternoon the two of us walked from the Findhorn Community along the emerging beach toward Roseisles for a couple of miles returning in the increasing rain back to Findhorn.

Tomorrow is the next leg of the trek home when we aim for Scotch Corner for an overnight stay. Rain is still forecast, hopefully not so bad as today.
