Lavender bush mob

The lavender here, and there's lots of it, is mobbed with bees and butterflies at the moment.

The weather has settled into a pattern: Gorgeous sunny mornings, almost too hot by 10am. Clouds over at 1ish, thunders and rains from 2-3.30, then clears up for sunny skies again by about 4.30. This fits pretty well with our schedule of napping and swimming and at least the rain means we don't have to do any (probably illegal - I haven't checked the hosepipe ban situation) garden watering.

This butterfly looks a little bashed about by the rain!

Lazy day, filling the house with pictures. As we came down in the car, we brought all the picture frames we haven't got around to using in Scotland (how are there so many?) to fill the walls here. Mostly with pictures of East Lothian beaches. And flowers. Though in deference to Raheny-eye I may snap some saucisson sec for the wall once we've picked some up at the market on Saturday.

If I'm up after midnight I might also try and snap our little terrace mouse for tomorrow's blip. He (she?) pops out from the rockery every evening to see if we've carelessly left the kitchen door open for him (her? - I think him though. Doesn't take a hint easily).
