Prepping For D-Day

The 80th anniversary of D-Day is on 6 June. Cycling up to North Weald airfield today we spotted a group of parked Dakotas including this one. It's the historic That's All Brother

It was the leading plane flying paratroopers into Normandy and was destined for scrappage before being discovered by historians and rescued. Today its crew, including Mindy here, have flown it to the UK from Texas and it will go on to Normandy for the commemorations.

The extra is a selfie of Dave and me in front of the plane.

Massive respect to all of the DC3's at the gathering and their crews for the part they played in 1944.
