Cob Cottage

Went for a "tiki tour" (kiwi for a drive) this afternoon. Down to Kurow, (legend Richie McCaw country) about an hours drive to the Waitaki Bridges. Over the years Doug has had many headaches endeavouring to keep these bridges open, now the new ones are just starting to be built. Since he is now retired his interest is still there quite naturally.

This cob cottage is along the way - Paterson's Cottage was built about 1872 and is registered by the NZ Historic Places' Trust as a Category 1 historic place. Hence the picket fence surrounding it. I've photographed it many times over the years, the light this afternoon was lovely. The power wires have always been a pest but today I have made them a feature.
