Up early to head across to Kensington. Today I worked as a Geography Ambassador for the RGS at RGS HQ in Kensington right next to the Royal Albert Hall! I rocked up and immediately was pitching in to get everything set up before people arrived at 9.45. The day was called 'Going Places With Geography', an event to promote Geography at uni to students at the end of year 12. We got the students in and signed up to events during the day before helping out with these events as they occurred. As Ambassadors we either sat in on talks, making sure the speakers had set up/had water/started or finished on time. If we weren't doing that we were upstairs in the council room chatting to students in the 'What is it like to study Geography at uni' sessions. I ended up doing 3 of these which was fine by me, it was great to chat to prospective students and help them with their queries and questions about all aspects of uni life. It seems like an age since I had to go through all of that! Quote of the day came from a couple of likely lads who were quick to let everyone know that they were only here 'to chat to the uni babes'. Can't help but admire their confidence!

After the event we adjourned to the pub for some drinks before everyone made their ways home. There was a fairly strong Lancaster contingent there so Adam, a second year at Lancs, and I got the tube over to Covent Garden and settled down in a pub to watch the end of the Djokovic/Del Potro semi-final and the start of Murray's. Adam left for his train and was replaced by Dom who suggested we went down to Bierschenke off the Strand. What a place, a big german basement doing a great line in beers and schnitzel (which Steffan accidently ordered £40's worth of!).

Really fun day, great to chat to the next cohort of geographers and help out at an awesome day of geography loving. It was especially awesome to be in the RGS building, somewhere I've wanted to go for ages!

Had trouble deciding what to blip today again so I've made a set on Flickr. Alternative Blip from today here
