Low flying bird

I caught this bird in flight and although the quality of the image is poor, I rather liked the sense of speed and movement. I was also hoping someone could help me with the identification. I thought it might be a little egret. I have been feeling tired today so was quite pleased to have a quite afternoon enjoying the tennis and Murray's historic win.
