Game, Set, Murray!

And so after 77 years, we have a British champion at Wimbledon.

Words cannot describe the joy, excitement, tension & relief that Andy Murray's emphatic victory against the world no.1 Novak Djokovic. What an amazing achievement & hugely deserved, well done Andy! Thankyou for making ours & your own dreams come true.

We conveniently chose the day of the Wimbledon Men's Final for a Re-UNI-on & Blackheath, for no apparent reason, was chosen as the location. We got ourselves settled in O'Neill's, ordered various concoctions of drinks (of which Pimm's was Spikey & mines tipple), our lunches came & quickly disappeared & then so began the tennis. What an incredible match. Murray really played his best, producing some amazing shots, showing true class & determination, reducing Djokovic to an unseen shadow of himself in moments that will undoubtedly define his career.

Follow the euphoric moments of the final game, we went out to the Heath for some sun & a kick about. It was easy forget what a beautiful day it has been, but when the tennis calls..

Before long, it was time to go our separate ways again. It was great to catch up with the gang once again, & already looking forward to the next. Janice & Will (driving with his 'L' plates) thankfully came to pick me up, meaning I didn't have to brave the not particularly simple train journey back to Croydon. On our arrival, George was serving up a Sunday roast of lamb, followed by chocolate fudge cake - delicious! Thoroughly stuffed & tiring after the exciting weekend, Jenny, Monkey & myself packed up our stuff & off we went back home.

I think in honour of today's momentous feet, I'm going to rename my Fred Perry trainers in honour of Muzza. Hence forth, let them be known as my Andy Murray's.

Sorry Fred, but the nation has a new Legend.
